This comprehensive training experience combines American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, allowing students to complete their babysitter training and lifesaving skills training together in one course.
This option is ideal for students who want to complete their full babysitter and CPR/AED/First Aid training together and are comfortable with a longer, hands on learning day.

Before class, students will complete approximately 2 hours of required American Red Cross online learning for the Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED portion of the course.

The in person portion combines babysitter education, practical childcare skills, emergency scenarios, discussion, and hands on CPR/AED/First Aid skill practice.
The required online coursework must be completed before the in person class. Instructions for accessing the online portion will be provided after registration.
Students will learn how to safely and responsibly care for infants and children while developing the confidence needed to begin babysitting.
Training includes topics such as:
✓ Babysitter responsibilities and professionalism
✓ Preparing for a babysitting job
✓ Communicating with parents and gathering important information
✓ Keeping children safe and supervising effectively
✓ Caring for infants and children
✓ Diapering and basic infant care
✓ Bottle preparation, feeding, and burping
✓ Age appropriate activities and play
✓ Managing common behaviors and challenging situations
✓ Recognizing and responding to emergencies
✓ Making responsible decisions when caring for children
✓ Basic business skills for beginning a babysitting business
Students will have opportunities to practice skills, participate in scenarios, ask questions, and work through situations they may encounter while babysitting.
CPR/AED/First Aid certification is included with this course.
Students will complete the required online learning before class and then practice their lifesaving skills with an instructor during the in person session.
Training includes:
✓ Adult, child, and infant CPR
✓ Using an AED
✓ Responding to choking
✓ Recognizing and responding to cardiac emergencies
✓ First aid for common injuries and sudden illnesses
✓ Responding to life threatening bleeding
✓ Hands on CPR and AED practice
✓ Emergency scenarios and skill application
Students who successfully complete all required components will receive:
American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Certification
plus
American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, valid for two years.
This course is designed for pre teens and teens ages 11 to 15 who want to develop the skills and confidence needed to babysit safely and responsibly.
Because this option combines both programs into one training day, it is especially well suited for students who:
✓ Want to complete babysitter and CPR/AED/First Aid training together
✓ Enjoy interactive and hands on learning
✓ Are comfortable with a longer in person learning day
✓ Want plenty of opportunities to practice skills with an instructor
✓ Prefer completing their training in one comprehensive experience rather than attending separate classes
The Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED portion of this course is a blended learning program.
Students must complete approximately 2 hours of required online coursework before attending the October 18 in person class.
Completion of the online portion is required by the American Red Cross and is part of the certification course. Students who have not completed the required online learning cannot participate in the in person CPR/AED/First Aid skills session.
