Our American Heart Association HeartCode® Basic Life Support (BLS) Skills Session is designed for healthcare professionals, healthcare students, and professional rescuers who need an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification for employment, school, clinicals, or professional licensure.
HeartCode® BLS is a blended learning program that combines self-paced online education with an in-person hands-on skills session led by an American Heart Association BLS Instructor.
This program is appropriate for individuals whose employer, school, licensing agency, or profession requires American Heart Association BLS Provider certification, including those working or training in:
✔ Healthcare
✔ Dental
✔ Therapy and rehabilitation
✔ Assisted living and long-term care
✔ Aquatics and recreation
✔ Professional rescue and emergency response
Upon successful completion of the required online course and in-person skills session, participants receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.
Whether you're earning your first certification or renewing an existing one, HeartCode® BLS offers the flexibility of completing the knowledge portion online while still receiving hands-on instruction and skills evaluation from an American Heart Association Instructor.
